Security Director

Responsibilities

• Manage contracted security staff operations and enforce contract standards, policies, and procedures
• Develop and implement short and long-range plans for personnel, guest safety, and asset protection
• Implement safety protocols, including emergency preparedness, bomb threat plans, and disaster response
• Oversee regulatory compliance with City, State, OSHA, Licensing, and NFPA standards
• Monitor security system integration, including access control, life safety systems, and CCTV
• Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, and intrusion alarms
• Conduct internal investigations and prepare written reports and documentation
• Network with law enforcement organizations and security industry associations
• Coordinate and direct private/special event security activities on site

Requirements

• Minimum of seven years of managerial and policy making experience in law enforcement or contract security
• Extensive internal contacts within the local Chicago law enforcement community
• Ability to obtain a valid PERC
• Proficiency in modern security technology (CCTV, electronic access control)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for budgeting and reporting
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform foot patrols in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Management, or a related field
• Professional Certifications in Security Management (CPP or similar)
• Bilingual skills
