Security and Mine Rescue Technician III

Responsibilities

• Serve as an onsite Emergency Medical Responder, providing first aid and medical support in urgent and non-routine situations.
• Respond to emergency events including vehicle extractions, medical aid calls, mine rescue incidents, and wildfire monitoring.
• Participate in regular drills, training exercises, and competency activities to maintain certification readiness.
• Oversee site security and surveillance operations, ensuring compliance with access control and safety protocols.
• Monitor emergency alerts, including lone worker alarms, and investigate site disturbances.
• Track incoming and outgoing personnel, vendors, and suppliers, and maintain daily incident reports.
• Train new hires and Mine Rescue team members in response procedures and safe work practices.

Requirements

• Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and/or Advanced First Aid (AFA) certification.
• Valid Mine Rescue Certificate (surface) compatible with Yukon OHS Mine Rescue Standard.
• Experience in industrial, remote, or high-risk emergency response environments.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform medical/rescue tasks.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions during emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience training new hires and specialized rescue team members.
• Local candidates residing near Faro, YT.
