Secured Lending Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Participate in the underwriting and ongoing portfolio management of secured lending and commercial banking relationships
• Perform complex financial analysis, including spreading financial statements, projections, and pro-forma financials
• Evaluate borrower creditworthiness, repayment capacity, leverage, and cash flow sustainability
• Calculate financial covenants and prepare detailed financing memorandums
• Monitor assigned portfolios to identify early warning signals, emerging risks, and covenant compliance issues
• Ensure timely completion of renewals, amendments, and annual reviews
• Collaborate with peers and managers to resolve credit or portfolio issues and achieve business goals

Requirements

• 2+ years of Secured Lending Underwriting experience or equivalent professional experience
• MBA in Finance (mandatory)
• CFA or Chartered Accountant qualification
• Strong knowledge of GAAP / IFRS accounting standards
• Proficiency in financial spreading, ratio analysis, and pro-forma modeling
• Ability to leverage AI tools for drafting, summarization, and analysis with human oversight
