Section Operator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the operation of section facilities affecting electric and gas transmission and distribution systems
• Manage outages of lines and equipment for testing, maintenance, and repairs to ensure service continuity
• Issue switching orders for de-energizing, grounding, tagging, and re-energizing various facilities
• Ensure strict adherence to operating instructions for switching, tagging, and gas operations
• Perform initial analysis of section troubles and initiate actions to minimize service interruptions
• Operate and monitor supervisory controlled electric substations and maintain gas pressures via supervisory control equipment
• Maintain accurate operational logs and update system diagram boards to reflect current field conditions
• Receive trouble calls and dispatch crews for minor issues during off-duty hours for customer service personnel

Requirements

• A.A.S. degree in Electrical Technology
• 3 years of experience in electric operating or related functions
• Ability to obtain an Automobile Operator's License
• Ability to pass a physical examination, including color perception testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical ability and emotional stability
• Ability to work irregular hours or shift schedules as required
• Excellent communication skills for receiving and transmitting orders and instructions
