Section Manager Production Processing

Responsibilities

• Ensure plant process operates effectively to produce planned quality and quantity of metals
• Coordinate labour, equipment, and services for the plant section
• Assist plant manager in developing annual budgets
• Maintain process recipes and optimize plant performance within recipes
• Develop and maintain site-specific standards, codes of practice, and procedures
• Manage performance of direct and once-removed production staff
• Allocate production resources including people, materials, and money across shifts
• Implement tactical plans to achieve plant goals and objectives
• Manage planned shutdowns and preventive maintenance of machinery
• Monitor and control metal flows and inventories to minimize plant lock-up
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) regulations and standards

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgy
• 7-10 years post-qualification plant experience in metallurgy development projects and line management
• Proficiency in business systems such as SAP
• Strong technical understanding of process control systems
• Valid driving license (code 08)
• Knowledge of SHE systems management and implementation
• English literacy
