Section Manager, Architectural

Responsibilities

• Perform high level architectural duties for critical and complex projects
• Oversee staff development and review architectural designs
• Sign and seal drawings and specifications with a Registered Architect seal
• Oversee preparation of plans for building elevations, floor plans, site landscaping, and paving
• Liaise with operating bureaus and agency stakeholders
• Establish standards, specifications, and design criteria
• Perform administrative functions including evaluations, time approvals, and staff planning
• Review designs prepared by outsourced architectural and engineering firms

Requirements

• Valid New York State Registration as an Architect
• Six years of full-time paid experience in architectural work
• At least two years of experience as an administrative architect
• Permanent Civil Service status as an Administrative Architect

Preferred Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience leading and supervising a design team
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience coordinating projects with engineering and other disciplines
• Strong analytical ability and architectural knowledge
• Valid New York State Motor Vehicle Driver’s License
