Section Chief - Pediatric Genetics

Responsibilities

• Lead the expansion and revitalization of the pediatric genetics program as the state's foremost tertiary medical center
• Direct the section with overall responsibility for academic and clinical programs, including planning, development, and resource management
• Recruit and retain additional pediatric geneticists to the section
• Serve as a mentor for junior faculty members to support their professional development and academic careers
• Promote scholarly activity and foster research programs in collaboration with other College of Medicine departments
• Improve patient access and streamline specialized genetic services to transform the patient experience
• Ensure the highest quality of care in alignment with OU Health and Oklahoma Children’s Hospital standards

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO)
• Board certification in Pediatrics
• Subspecialty training in Genetics
• Active medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Oklahoma
• Eligibility for privileges in pediatric genetics at Oklahoma Children's Hospital

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with funded research
• Proven track record of academic leadership or program development
