Secondary Student Teaching Supervisor, World Languages (Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Observe assigned student teachers six times over the semester
• Collaborate with cooperating teachers to provide mentoring and support to student teachers
• Mediate resolutions to problems that arise during student teaching placements
• Attend required professional development and program planning sessions offered through the Department of Education
• Complete all required online training for Elmhurst University employees

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of teaching or administrative experience
• Must be a licensed teacher or administrator
• Experience teaching Spanish, preferably at the middle school or high school levels
• Master’s degree or higher in Education
• Demonstrated supervisory knowledge related to World Language pedagogy
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work positively with students, teachers, and administrative leadership
• Availability for flexible daytime hours
