About the role
Responsibilities
- Observe assigned student teachers six times over the semester
- Collaborate with cooperating teachers to provide mentoring and support to student teachers
- Mediate resolutions to problems that arise during student teaching placements
- Attend required professional development and program planning sessions offered through the Department of Education
- Complete all required online training for Elmhurst University employees
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of teaching or administrative experience
- Must be a licensed teacher or administrator
- Experience teaching Spanish, preferably at the middle school or high school levels
- Master’s degree or higher in Education
- Demonstrated supervisory knowledge related to World Language pedagogy
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work positively with students, teachers, and administrative leadership
- Availability for flexible daytime hours
