Responsibilities
- Manage daily running of mechanical installations onboard the ship
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance of mechanical installations
- Lead Engine Room Personnel in Risk Assessments and toolbox talks
- Assist with bunkering the vessel
- Serve as Engine room Watchkeeper
- Maintain and update Engine Logbook and Oil Record Books
- Report directly to the Vessel Chief Engineer
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education in Marine Engineering or equivalent
- Transport Canada Second Class Engineer Motor Ship certification
- STCW MED BS, PSC, AFF certifications
- Marine Advanced First Aid certification
- Valid Seafarers Medical and Canadian Passport
- Experience on Offshore Support Vessels, including diesel electric and hybrid propulsion systems
- High-level knowledge of ISM, Transport Canada, MARPOL, and Canadian maritime legislation
- Demonstrable experience in a management or lead position within the offshore industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate of Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats
- Experience aboard large AHTS vessels
- Working knowledge of diesel electric engines
