About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Cook in food production and menu preparation
- Prepare hot side dishes according to menu standards
- Ensure all food preparation meets quality and safety standards
- Record food temperatures in the appropriate logs
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas
- Manage proper food storage and rotation
- Follow all health and safety protocols and report incidents immediately
Requirements
- Diploma in hospitality, catering, or equivalent technical training/experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional cooking experience
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills
- Adaptability to changing conditions and varied tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in remote workforce accommodation camps
- Experience in isolated environments within natural resources or construction sectors
- MAPAQ certification (handler or manager)
