About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent quality standards in food preparation and safety/sanitation in accordance with Food Safe protocol
- Prepare food items for sandwich making including cutting breads, meats, and cheese
- Visually inspect cold food appearance and presentation
- Control proper storage of food items in refrigerators and freezers
- Prepare and set up a full salad bar for lunch and supper
- Ensure effective utilization of food stocks
- Assist in overall kitchen operations, maintenance, and cleaning of tools and equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of cooking experience in a similar, hotel, or institutional environment preferred
- FoodSafe Level I certification
- Ability to obtain 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test
Preferred Qualifications
- SafeCheck advanced food safety certification
- HACCP certification
