About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform preparation, cooking, and serving duties for meals, daily specials, and catered events
  • Utilize various preparation methods including roasting, grilling, steaming, poaching, boiling, and baking
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, FoodSafe, and ServeSafe standards
  • Assist in menu planning and costing suggestions to the Chef Manager
  • Lead and coach team members by delegating tasks and ensuring best practices
  • Control costs through inventory maintenance, food rotation (FIFO), and portion control
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen and storage areas
  • Ensure speed of service and professional customer interaction

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary culinary training
  • 2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, cafeteria, or café setting
  • ServeSafe and/or FoodSafe certification
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment with high levels of cooperation
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift between 0-10 pounds
  • Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading high-performance teams
  • Artistic flair for food presentation
