About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overall kitchen operations and maintenance
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tools, equipment, pots, and dishes
  • Ensure consistent food quality and safety standards per Food Safe protocol
  • Prepare food items for sandwich making, including slicing meats and cheeses
  • Inspect appearance of cold food for proper color and presentation
  • Control proper storage of food items in refrigerators and freezers
  • Prepare and set up full salad bars for lunch and supper
  • Utilize food stocks effectively

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of cooking experience in a similar, hotel, or institutional environment preferred
  • FoodSafe Level I certification
  • Ability to obtain 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test

Preferred Qualifications

  • SafeCheck advanced food safety certification
  • HACCP certification
