Sea Jellies Aquarist

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily husbandry and maintenance tasks for the Sea Jellies Illuminated facility to ensure optimal animal health
• Provide daily care for teleosts and invertebrates
• Perform regular water quality testing
• Participate in the collection, transport, and rescue of fish and invertebrates
• Maintain accurate and complete daily records for all exhibits under your care

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology or a relevant field
• Current First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation certification
• Knowledge of aquarium systems, filtration, and water testing
• Ability to care for live food hatcheries, including harvesting and nutritional enrichment of microalgae, rotifers, and artemia
• Knowledge of marine species including sharks, rays, fish, turtles, jellyfish, and corals
• Ability to work unsupervised on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a public aquarium
