About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric emergency services, screening, and outreach assessments to determine appropriate levels of care.
  • Provide in-depth clinical assessments for individuals of all ages (birth through 65+ years).
  • Identify appropriate level of care dispositions using DSM-5 criteria and clinical expertise.
  • Devise appropriate intervention and disposition plans.
  • Involve the individual, their family, or significant others in the development of disposition plans.
  • Explain referrals and dispositions to the person served in a clear and supportive manner.
  • Participate in a 24/7 operational environment, including off-hours shifts, holidays, and alternate weekends.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution.
  • One year of post-master's, full-time professional experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • Eligibility to receive New Jersey State Certification as a Mental Health Screener within one year of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
