About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric emergency services, screening, and outreach assessments to determine appropriate levels of care.
  • Provide in-depth clinical assessments for individuals of all ages (birth through 65+ years).
  • Identify appropriate level of care disposition using DSM-5 criteria and clinical expertise.
  • Devise appropriate intervention and disposition plans.
  • Involve the individual, family, or significant others in the development of disposition plans.
  • Explain referrals and dispositions to the person served in a clear and supportive manner.
  • Work rotating shifts, including off-hours, holidays, and alternate weekends, to support 24/7 operations.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a mental health related field from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year of post-master's, full-time, professional experience in a psychiatric setting.
  • Eligibility for New Jersey State Certification as a Mental Health Screener within one year of employment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment involving crisis situations.

  • Current New Jersey licensure governing the specific mental health discipline.
