Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Chemical Biology

Responsibilities

• Supervise synthetic efforts with CROs
• Design, perform, and analyze in cellulo assays
• Design and optimize first-in-class bifunctional molecules
• Collaborate with Drug Discovery and IP teams on patent applications
• Provide input for mechanistic studies on lead drug molecules
• Spearhead forays into new disease areas

Requirements

• PhD in Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, or related field
• Experience in Chemical Biology with Medicinal Chemistry training
• Deep understanding of small-molecule drug discovery and human disease
• Ability to work at the interface of chemistry and biology
• Experience with designing, synthesizing, and optimizing induced proximity medicines (e.g., PROTACs)
• Experience with hit-to-lead and lead optimization studies
• Knowledge of SAR, PK/PD, and DMPK
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays (cytotoxicity, transfections, etc.)
• Experience with PPI assays (BRET, APEX/BioID, AlphaScreen)

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in HTS and phenotypic assay development
• Proteomics experience (PTM analysis, chemo-proteomic target deconvolution)
• Computational or molecular dynamics drug discovery experience
• DEL experience
• Experience managing synthetic chemistry CRO teams
• Experience advancing research to clinical stages
