At Glyphic Biotechnologies, we plan to create the protein revolution for which scientists and researchers have been waiting. We are developing a massively parallel, single-molecule proteome sequencing platform that will transform life science discovery and usher in a new era of insights into human biology and disease.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and optimize inputs for ProSE experiments for robustness, sensitivity, and scalability
- Lead the integration of novel chemistry developments into sample preparation and assay workflows
- Optimize and integrate C-terminal and side-chain blocking chemistries into automated assay workflows
- Propose and qualify in-process controls and analytical tools to understand sequencing efficiency
- Apply chemoenzymatic synthesis approaches and characterize individual enzymatic reaction steps
- Introduce and validate real biological sample inputs across a range of sample types and complexities
- Develop extraction and purification protocols for inputs derived from cells, tissues, and blood
- Develop and implement strategies for sample enrichment, depletion, and dynamic range management
- Support the generation and sourcing of standard reference materials using cell culture techniques
Requirements
- Degree in biochemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology, or an equivalent field
- PhD with 4+ years, MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years of relevant experience for Senior Scientist
- PhD with 0+ years, MS with 2+ years, or BS with 4+ years of relevant experience for Scientist I
- Expertise in developing and optimizing ultrasensitive proteomic assays from real biological samples
- Experience with LCMS for discovery proteomics
- Experience integrating chemical labeling or modification chemistries into sample preparation
- Experience developing sample preparation or enrichment methods for low-abundance targets
- Understanding of peptide chemistry and post-translational modification (PTM) preservation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience processing biological samples from cell lines, blood, or tissue
- Familiarity with highly multiplexed protein quantification platforms (e.g., nELISA, NuLISA, PEA)
- Experience with nanopore platforms for sequencing or label-free detection
- Experience with single-cell or spatial proteomics and transcriptomics
- Proficiency with R or Python for data analysis workflows
