Scientist, Systems Engineering (Chief Systems Engineer)

Responsibilities

• Lead concept of operation development, requirements analysis, decomposition, and generation across various system levels
• Lead requirements traceability and the development of comprehensive test plans
• Execute design trades to support critical technical decisions and lead design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.)
• Lead integration and testing of electro-optical/infrared systems and related hardware/software
• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements and ensure interface compatibility
• Evaluate and mitigate program risks and provide mentoring to less experienced Systems Engineers
• Contribute to proposal activities, program planning, guidance, and execution

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with 13+ years of experience
• Active US Government Secret Security Clearance
• Proven experience generating and managing requirements and flowing them down to sub-systems
• Proficiency using DOORS and/or MBSE software such as CAMEO or MagicDraw
• Extensive experience leading large space programs across the full system lifecycle
• Background in aerospace/defense systems, including space payloads, spacecraft bus, or ground systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical expertise in Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, or equivalent engineering disciplines
• Experience with project management aspects including cost account management and earned value management
• Proficiency in data analysis and modeling/simulation using MATLAB or Python
• Experience architecting and integrating end-to-end systems in EO/IR, RF, or space payload areas
• Ability to work on ITAR or EAR projects
• Active US Government TS/SCI Security Clearance
