About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform synthesis of modified RNA oligonucleotides (ASO, siRNAs) incorporating diverse sugar and backbone chemistries
- Troubleshoot and optimize synthesis methods for high quality oligonucleotides
- Interpret analytical data (HPLC, LCMS) to improve purity and yields
- Carry out purification (anion exchange, reverse phase) and characterization (LCMS, UV, melting temperature)
- Register synthesized oligonucleotides in databases and report experiments in ELN
- Contribute to oligonucleotide design and hit-to-lead optimization
- Generate intermediates for antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define deliverables and timelines
- Perform lab maintenance and present data at internal meetings
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry or related discipline with 2 years of experience, or MSc with 8+ years of industry experience
- Hands-on experience with oligonucleotide synthesis and purification platforms (MerMade, K&A, AKTA Oligopilot)
- Experience with biochemical and analytical assays for modified RNA oligonucleotides
- Ability to independently execute experimental work and interpret complex data
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Postdoctoral experience
- Experience with oligonucleotide conjugation, including antibody conjugation
