Scientist, Project Engineer - Certification Lead PE

Responsibilities

• Lead sector-wide certification strategy initiatives to improve consistency, efficiency, and compliance across programs.
• Develop, standardize, and maintain certification processes, tools, templates, and best practices.
• Partner with engineering, quality, and program management to identify risks and opportunities in certification planning.
• Drive continuous improvement in certification readiness, documentation quality, and process compliance.
• Provide guidance to program teams on regulatory, customer, and internal compliance requirements.
• Serve as a key liaison for certification coordination with internal stakeholders and regulatory representatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years of relevant engineering certification experience, OR
• Graduate Degree with 10+ years of relevant engineering certification experience, OR
• 16+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated experience in certification, qualification, compliance, airworthiness, or related engineering activities.
• Experience developing or governing technical processes within a regulated engineering environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives across multiple programs or sites.
• Experience developing training content, guidance material, or playbooks.
• Experience with certification plans, compliance matrices, and technical data packages.
• Familiarity with aerospace and defense certification frameworks and airworthiness processes.
