Scientist, Process Development

Responsibilities

• Support site process safety operations and provide guidance to process chemistry personnel on laboratory chemical processes
• Perform process safety assessments for active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing under cGMP, including documentation for batch records and specifications
• Develop strategies for the safe manufacturing of drug substances to support clinical studies and commercialization in collaboration with senior scientists
• Utilize technical methods such as DSC, ARC, and RC1 to support process development activities and interpret hazard evaluation results
• Support the development, management, and promotion of site process safety programs, including assessment tools and training programs
• Ensure all experimentation adheres to standard operating procedures (SOPs) while maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards

Requirements

• Ph.D. in chemistry, related science, or engineering
• MS/MA in a related scientific discipline with 4+ years of industry experience
• OR a BS/BA in a related scientific discipline with 6+ years of industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience planning and executing multi-step organic synthesis
• Experience scaling up synthetic routes and developing safe processes
• Proficiency with thermal analysis techniques
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industry focusing on process safety and development
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and technical writing skills
