Scientist, ML/AI Antibody Design

Responsibilities

• Design and experimentally test novel protein scaffolds using structural modeling, rational design, and directed evolution
• Execute hands-on protein production, purification, and functional characterization in a laboratory setting
• Stay current with computational protein design to inform design strategies and implement emerging technologies
• Collaborate with companies in the Flagship ecosystem to evaluate and integrate novel ML models
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the computational team and help shape the design platform
• Identify and lead external research collaborations with academic and commercial partners
• Report results clearly to the scientific team and management

Requirements

• Ph.D. with 2+ years of industry experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of industry experience in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field
• Proven track record of drug development through patents or first-author publications
• Hands-on experience in protein production, purification, and biophysical characterization
• Expertise in protein engineering, structural biology, and structural modeling/visualization
• Experience with biophysical techniques including SPR, ITC, and KinExa
• Proficiency with ML tools for computational protein design (e.g., AlphaFold, RosettaFold, ProteinMPNN, RFDiffusion)
• Experience designing antibodies, nanobodies, and therapeutic proteins
