Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize first-in-class bifunctional induced proximity medicines
• Assess SAR to inform iterative medicinal chemistry optimization
• Supervise synthetic efforts with CRO partners
• Perform and analyze in cellulo assays
• Collaborate with Drug Discovery and IP teams on patent applications
• Contribute mechanistic insight on lead drug molecules

Requirements

• PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Pharmacology, or related field
• Deep understanding of small-molecule drug discovery and its relationship to human disease
• Ability to work fluently at the interface of chemistry and biology
• Experience in design, synthesis, and optimization of induced proximity medicines (e.g., PROTACs)
• Proven track record in hit-to-lead and lead optimization campaigns
• Expertise in multi-step organic synthesis and complex synthetic route design
• Strong working knowledge of SAR, PK/PD, and DMPK principles
• Proficiency in chemical biology techniques including mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, and PPI assays

Preferred Qualifications

• HTS and phenotypic assay development
• Proteomics experience such as PTM analysis and chemo-proteomic target deconvolution
• Computational or molecular dynamics drug discovery experience
• DEL experience
• Experience managing synthetic chemistry CRO teams
• Prior experience advancing research to the clinic
