About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and optimize process-relevant chemical transformations to support Discovery Chemistry programs
  • Develop reaction and process workflows with emphasis on engineering rigor, scalability, and data quality
  • Apply high-throughput experimentation (HTE) to reaction screening and process optimization
  • Build workflows connecting reaction setup, workup, analytical readout, and data capture
  • Contribute to digitally enabled process chemistry workflows and integration with AI-ready systems
  • Collaborate with automation and platform teams to adapt workflows for robotics-enabled experimentation
  • Evaluate reaction performance through chemistry and engineering lenses, including yield, selectivity, and robustness

Requirements

  • PhD in Process Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Medicinal Chemistry, or related discipline
  • Strong hands-on experience in process chemistry, reaction development, or scale-relevant synthetic chemistry
  • Demonstrated experience applying engineering principles to chemical process design and optimization
  • Experience with HTE for reaction or process screening and data-rich experimentation
  • Experience with reaction workup, sample handling, purification, and analytical interpretation
  • Ability to generate well-structured experimental data for digital workflows
  • Strong collaborative skills across chemistry, analytics, automation, and computational teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Discovery Chemistry or small molecule R&D in biotech or pharma
  • Familiarity with miniaturized process screening, parallel reactors, or robotics-enabled platforms
  • Experience with the digitalization of process chemistry, including ELNs and workflow automation
  • Ability to connect chemistry execution with broader platform goals like automation compatibility
