About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute R&D projects to develop new and improved natural color solutions for food and beverage applications.
  • Conduct lab experiments including botanical extractions and natural product chemistry.
  • Perform color characterization and measurements using UV-VIS spectrophotometry and colorimetry.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians while fostering a collaborative research culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as regulatory, procurement, and product development to identify technical gaps and innovation opportunities.
  • Monitor scientific literature and industry trends to evaluate emerging color technologies.
  • Manage R&D color lab equipment and ensure compliance with lab safety regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • PhD with 1+ years of industry experience or a Master's degree with 4+ years of industry experience.
  • Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Expertise in color science and characterization techniques (UV-VIS spectrophotometry, colorimetry, and shelf-life stability).
  • Proven experience in project management, specifically moving color solutions from benchtop to production scale.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies and standards related to food ingredients.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.
