About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead formulation development projects for various modalities, serving as the technical lead and SME for formulation and process design.
- Execute and analyze experiments to achieve project milestones for small molecules and biologics.
- Develop and implement phase-appropriate formulation strategies aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Perform analytical testing including HPLC/UPLC, Capillary Electrophoresis, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and Karl Fischer titration.
- Troubleshoot formulation, analytical, and process challenges and propose scientifically sound corrective actions.
- Author and review formulation development records, protocols, reports, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and laboratory staff.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external client teams to ensure successful project execution.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical development or a CDMO.
- PhD in a related field with 0-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical development or a CDMO is preferred.
- Strong foundation in clinical-phase development and analytical characterization of drug products, including biologics and complex modalities.
- In-depth knowledge of biopharmaceutical regulation, formulation, filtration, filling, and lyophilization operations.
- Proficiency with MS Office, SmartSheets, LabX, and Empower.
