Scientist II - Formulation Scientist

Responsibilities

• Execute formulation development efforts for investigational pharmaceutical products, including solid dosage forms and liquid solutions or suspensions
• Prepare formulations through material weighing, dispensing, blending, and operation of associated processing equipment
• Perform physical and chemical characterization of developed formulations
• Manage the shipping, handling, forecasting, and restocking of materials
• Document and report experimental results to senior scientists
• Support laboratory investigations regarding unexpected results
• Perform cell assays using prepared formulations
• Maintain laboratory safety standards and manage chemical inventory

Requirements

• BS/MS in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong laboratory and analytical skills
• Proficiency in documentation and reporting of scientific results
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory setting with strict adherence to safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with oral dosage form processes such as tablet compression, granulation, or capsule filling
• Experience with powder handling, milling, or liquid blending
• Prior experience in a pharmaceutical product development laboratory
• Experience with cell culture techniques
• Ability to work independently to drive tasks to completion
