About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute cell-based and biochemical assays to assess Syntein™ activity, target engagement, and mechanism of action
  • Conceptualize and develop novel assays for diverse target classes and disease areas
  • Collaborate with the Pharmacology team on biochemistry and biophysics projects, providing cell biology expertise
  • Contribute to in vivo and ex vivo pharmacology activities to progress projects and the platform
  • Work cross-functionally to enable novel methods, assays, and screening workflows, including assay optimization for screening funnels
  • Ensure rapid generation and accurate reporting of high-quality data to drive design-make-test cycles
  • Communicate scientific findings and ideas effectively to diverse internal teams

Requirements

  • PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related discipline (up to 2 years of relevant experience; industry experience preferred)
  • Technical expertise in mammalian cell culture, including cell line maintenance, transient/stable transfection, and lentiviral transduction
  • Proficiency in bioanalytical techniques such as TR-FRET, ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry
  • Experience with primary cell culture and characterization, including tissue dissociation
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, develop, and optimize diverse cell-based functional assays
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cellular/high-content imaging and image analysis (e.g., Incucyte, Phenix)
  • Proficiency in renal disease biology and preclinical kidney models
  • Experience with in vivo pharmacology
  • Proficiency in laboratory automation and semi-automated screening workflows
  • Industry-level experience with data record maintenance and workflow integrity
