Scientist I

Responsibilities

• Set up and analyze microbiology and inorganic samples including potable and non-potable water and soil
• Receive, log, and process client samples
• Prepare reagents, media, and Certificates of Analysis
• Maintain laboratory inventory, cleanliness, and filing systems
• Perform monthly environmental monitoring and proficiency testing
• Document all laboratory functions in logbooks and computer systems
• Assist with sample shipping and courier driving as required

Requirements

• BS or BA in chemistry or related field (or 3 years laboratory experience)
• Minimum of two weeks academic training in microbiological analysis of drinking water or 80 hours on-the-job training
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of bench top laboratory experience
• Previous experience in a production-oriented environment
