About the Company

Parallel Bio is building human-first drug discovery: 10x faster, 1000x cheaper, 0 animals killed. Our platform uses organoids and AI to model human biology, providing a high-concordance alternative to traditional animal models.

Responsibilities

• Build the HIV lab from the ground up, including equipment, reagents, and SOPs
• Serve as the in-house expert on HIV biology, virology, and assay design
• Establish and validate an assay menu covering viral load, infectivity, latency reactivation, neutralization, integration, and replication kinetics
• Execute experiments with scientific rigor and perform real-time troubleshooting
• Co-own biosafety protocols to maintain BSL2+ standards

Requirements

• Current or recent postdoc from a top-tier HIV lab
• Extensive experience working under BSL2+ conditions
• Deep familiarity with standard HIV assays (viral load, infectivity, latency, etc.)
• Strong background in immunology and T cell biology
• Hands-on bench research expertise and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with organoid or 3D culture systems
• Experience with single-cell, multi-omic, or high-content imaging readouts
• Background in broader infectious disease work
• Ability to work alongside hardware engineers and platform scientists
