About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead concept of operation development, requirements analysis, decomposition, and generation across various system levels
- Manage requirements traceability and develop comprehensive test plans to ensure coverage
- Execute design trades to support critical technical decision-making
- Lead major design reviews including PDR and CDR
- Oversee the integration and testing of electro-optical/infrared systems and associated hardware/software
- Support data analysis, modeling, and simulation efforts
- Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements and ensure interface compatibility
- Identify and mitigate technical risks within the program
- Provide technical mentoring to less experienced Systems Engineers
- Contribute to proposal activities, program planning, and execution
Requirements
- Active US Government TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience (or 16 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
- Professional experience generating and managing requirements and flowing them down to sub-systems
- Proficiency with DOORS and/or MBSE software such as CAMEO or MagicDraw
- Proven experience leading large space programs across the full system lifecycle
- Professional experience with Laser/LADAR system design
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with space payloads, spacecraft bus, ground systems, and environmental testing
- Background in architecting and integrating end-to-end systems in EO/IR, RF, or space payload areas
- Experience with data analysis and modeling/simulation using MATLAB or Python
- Knowledge of project management aspects including cost account management and earned value management
- Experience with space ground systems and space vehicle operations
