About the role

About the Company

At Medra, our mission is to use AI, robotics, and biology to accelerate life science research, with the ultimate goal of eradicating disease. We are building a Physical AI Scientist platform that combines autonomous scientific reasoning with robotic dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret antibody screening and characterization campaigns
  • Develop and run cell-based binding and functional assays using flow cytometry
  • Perform biophysical characterization including SPR, BLI, and epitope binning
  • Execute developability assays such as thermal stability, aggregation, and expression titer
  • Maintain and engineer mammalian cell lines (Expi293, ExpiCHO, HEK293, CHO)
  • Build new lab capabilities including instrument qualification and SOP writing
  • Partner with roboticists and software engineers to translate manual workflows into autonomous protocols
  • Maintain rigorous experimental records in electronic lab notebooks (ELN)

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, or related field with 2+ years of industry experience, or B.S./M.S. with 6+ years of industry experience
  • Strong background in mammalian cell culture and sterile technique
  • Deep hands-on expertise in flow cytometry and panel design
  • Experience designing cell-based functional assays for antibody characterization
  • Working understanding of antibody structure, function, and therapeutic discovery
  • Ability to drive multiple workstreams in parallel with strong documentation habits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience screening antibodies against challenging targets like GPCRs or ion channels
  • Experience with VHHs, bispecifics, Fc-fusions, or ADCs
  • Hands-on experience with lab automation and liquid handling platforms
  • Experience expressing and purifying antibodies in HEK293/CHO systems
  • Track record of developing new assays or platforms from scratch
