Scientist, Cell-Based & Functional Assays

Adaptyv is building an automated lab that lets AI agents run biology experiments. We are building the infrastructure that gives AI agents access to the physical world, powered by a deep software and hardware stack that orchestrates complex workflows and AI systems to accelerate assay development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and run cell-based functional assays hands-on, including cell activation, signaling, reporter-gene, and potency assays.
• Turn bespoke functional assays into productized, orderable capabilities with defined, reproducible performance.
• Work with the biology team to integrate assays into production workflows and with lab automation to scale them onto automated systems.
• Partner with the software team to structure and model functional data such as dose-response and potency.
• Own assay robustness, including controls, reference standards, troubleshooting, and reporting quality.
• Advise customers and internal teams on assay design and functional data interpretation.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on experience developing cell-based and functional/potency assays (reporter cell lines, primary cells, flow cytometry).
• Applied industry experience in a production, development, or commercial setting where throughput and reliability are critical.
• Strong understanding of antibody and protein function and mechanisms.
• Ability to work interdisciplinary across biology, automation, and software.
• Experience standing up new assay capabilities and productizing them.

Preferred Qualifications

• Data fluency including scripting and analyzing dose-response and potency data.
