About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and optimize protein purification processes including affinity, ion exchange, HIC, and multimodal chromatography using ÄKTA systems
- Implement filtration processes such as ultrafiltration and diafiltration for therapeutic proteins and critical reagents
- Design and implement purification strategies for challenging antibodies, immunogens, and membrane proteins
- Perform protein characterization using quality-focused analytical methods including HPLC/UPLC (CEX, SEC), UV/Vis spectroscopy, and CE-SDS
- Document experimental work in electronic laboratory journals (ELN) and prepare technical reports
- Evaluate, interpret, and graphically represent measurement data for presentation in cross-functional internal meetings
- Manage general laboratory organization and equipment responsibilities
Requirements
- Degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a comparable scientific-technical assistant qualification
- Practical experience in protein purification, process parameter determination, and scale-up strategies
- Proficiency with ÄKTA systems and Unicorn software
- Hands-on analytical experience with HPLC/UPLC (using Chromeleon software), UV/Vis spectroscopy, and CE-SDS
- Fluency in both English and German
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently and flexibly in a research environment
