Scientific Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain QuEra's compiler pipeline from circuit level quantum programs to Pulse level Intermediate representation
• Design a novel domain specific language to program atom shuttling inside neutral atom quantum computers
• Implement and improve optimization methods relevant to shuttling workflows including routing, scheduling, and planning heuristics
• Develop static analysis for both quantum circuit and atom shuttle level languages
• Communicate and collaborate with QuEra scientists and external customers to meet use case requirements

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science with focus on programming language design and compilation
• Experience with Python semantics, Python type hints, and CPython interpreter
• Experience with at least one compiled language (C++, Julia, Rust, Haskell, or OCaml) and their type systems
• Experience with Static Single Assignment (SSA) intermediate representations-based compiler development
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle including version control, CI/CD, testing, and debugging

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computer microarchitecture or hardware design
• Experience using LLVM or MLIR for compiler development
• Experience or publications in quantum hardware oriented program optimization
• Knowledge of quantum error correction
• Contributions to existing open-source libraries
• Knowledge of quantum computing basics, algorithms, and information theory
