Scientific Operations Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the advanced research infrastructure at the Tec.Nano Laboratory.
• Coordinate daily facility operations to ensure efficient use of scientific infrastructure and alignment with institutional goals.
• Supervise laboratory specialists, technical staff, student assistants, and external service providers.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and operational availability of scientific instrumentation.
• Support professors, researchers, students, and industry partners with access to laboratory facilities and services.
• Collaborate on budget preparation, procurement planning, service pricing, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, laboratory safety standards, and applicable regulations.
• Identify opportunities for service expansion, new capabilities, and strategic alliances.

Requirements

• PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in scientific research laboratories, advanced instrumentation facilities, or research infrastructure management.
• Advanced conversational English skills.
• Advanced conversational Spanish skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
