Scientific Officer Pre-clinical Experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and maintain laboratory and simulation equipment to ensure safe and smooth practical teaching sessions
• Collaborate with academic staff and course convenors to develop and deliver best-practice teaching activities
• Manage equipment and consumables, including procurement, stocktakes, maintenance, and calibration to industry standards
• Develop and maintain essential documentation, including risk assessments, standard operating procedures, and lab resource statements
• Provide technical instruction and support to students and staff during teaching sessions and special workshops

Requirements

• A relevant Health-based degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in a technical support environment
• Demonstrated experience supporting pre-clinical, simulation, or laboratory-based teaching activities
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with academic and technical teams
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to maintaining safe and inclusive learning environments
