Scientific Fellow, AI-Enabled CMC

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior scientific thought leader at the intersection of AI, computational science, and Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC).
• Shape scientific strategy and evaluate internal and external capabilities to advance CMC across development, scale-up, and manufacturing sciences.
• Advise senior leadership on emerging digital, computational, and AI approaches to improve process understanding, control, and decision-making.
• Define scientific strategies and practical tactics for AI-enabled CMC, including process modeling, formulation, and data-driven optimization.
• Establish a national and international reputation through high-impact publications, patents, and scientific collaborations.
• Work across a matrixed organization to identify opportunities where advanced analytics and automation can improve speed and reliability.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, computational science, data science, machine learning, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in academia, biotech, technology, pharma, or a manufacturing-focused environment.
• Proven track record in AI, computational tools, and CMC-related scientific innovation.
• Demonstrated success in advising senior leaders and translating technical advances into strategic R&D and manufacturing impact.
• Ability to operate as a highly independent leader with strong external visibility and influence.
