Scientific Editor

Responsibilities

• Assess research submissions and oversee the peer review and editorial process
• Recruit exciting research studies and manage a pipeline of high-quality reviews and editorial content
• Establish relationships with researchers and represent journals at scientific meetings and research institutions
• Collaborate with the Molecular Cell and Cell editorial teams on decision-making and strategic projects
• Contribute to broader Cell Press and Elsevier initiatives
• Advocate for science and provide thought leadership in scientific communication

Requirements

• Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related field
• Strong critical thinking skills regarding diverse scientific issues
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills for community engagement
• Proven organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work effectively within diverse team settings
• At least two years of prior editorial experience is preferred for the Scientific Editor level
