About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific leadership across the Point of Care and Diagnostics portfolio, focusing on clinical chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with Development, Marketing, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to ensure optimal execution of data acquisition and product feature development.
  • Manage the performance, analysis, and interpretation of research data from clinical studies, animal models, and bench experiments.
  • Provide strategic input to the research organization to define new product features based on clinical needs and field input.
  • Lead study design for observational studies, interventional clinical trials, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), and real-world evidence generation.
  • Author technical papers, abstracts, and articles, and deliver presentations at internal and external scientific forums.
  • Hire, mentor, and manage a diverse team of researchers, ensuring high performance and a professional work environment.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with FDA regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline; MD or MD/PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive research experience.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience, preferably in diagnostics, medical devices, or point-of-care technologies.
  • 3–5 years of people management or supervisory experience in a scientific or technical environment.
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Proven experience engaging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), external researchers, and professional societies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior and executive leadership.
