School Year Educator

Responsibilities

• Lead field-based and classroom environmental education programs for students of all ages
• Collaborate with staff to prepare public, community, and volunteer programs
• Assist with the care of buildings, grounds, trails, and habitats
• Provide care for program animals, including feeding and tank maintenance
• Fulfill weekly administrative tasks and contribute to public communications like social media
• Serve as a role model naturalist and environmental steward

Requirements

• At least one year of experience teaching or working with children in educational or recreational settings
• Interest and experience in biology, education, or environmental science
• Commitment to the conservation of birds, wildlife, and habitats
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as an enthusiastic team player

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in speaking and writing in Spanish
