School Bus Driver

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus to safely and efficiently transport students, including those with disabilities, to and from school
• Perform and record daily safety inspections on bus components such as tires, lights, fuel, oil, and wipers
• Report defective equipment for repair in a timely manner
• Conduct emergency and evacuation drills and complete necessary incident reports
• Maintain effective control over student groups to ensure safe driving conditions
• Communicate with dispatchers and supervisors using a two-way radio

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• 4 years of experience operating motorized vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, or SUVs)
• Valid Ohio Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• School Bus and Passenger endorsements with no air brake restriction
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to pass an annual Ohio Department of Education physical
• Ability to pass Federal and State Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation reports
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States
