School Bus Driver

Responsibilities

• Drive school bus routes as a back-up driver and for scheduled class, athletics, or outdoor program trips
• Load and unload students at designated on- or off-campus areas
• Maintain order and discipline among riders in accordance with school and state policies
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report problems to the Transportation Manager
• Maintain clean interior conditions of the bus
• Operate vehicles in compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• One year of experience driving school buses in city traffic
• Current Oregon Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Air Brake, Passenger, and "S" endorsements
• ODE certified School Bus Certification with required training hours
• Ability to lift 530 lbs. and push or pull 100 lbs.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug/alcohol testing
• Proficiency in English (reading and writing)

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to handle both daily routes and additional trips
