School Based Support Teacher

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and classroom support for middle and high school students
• Assist YSTAY Teachers with lesson plans focused on life skills, prevention, and character development
• Substitute in YSTAY classrooms when needed
• Track and report student progress regarding academics, behavior, and attendance
• Plan and participate in monthly adventure trips and special activities
• Build strong relationships with students, families, and school staff
• Support fundraising and community service projects

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience working with youth (experience with at-risk youth preferred)
• Ability to tutor grades 8–12 in core subjects including math, science, social studies, and language arts
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and tablet technology
• Ability to work a consistent schedule during school hours
