School-Based Mental Health Technician

Responsibilities

• Promote and deliver trauma-attuned interventions to promote academic and mental health stability
• Assist students with daily school activities and provide de-escalation and crisis intervention
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to lead or assist student activities and groups
• Follow classroom management protocols and daily schedules
• Develop strong working relationships with school leadership, teachers, and paraprofessionals
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and professional boundaries
• Document student observations following prescribed procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
• Two or more years of experience in a mental health setting, preferably with children and adolescents (ages 5-18)
• Knowledge of mental illness treatment for highly acute children and adolescents
• Experience with crisis management and de-escalation
• Experience working with students, families, and community health agencies
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Behavioral Therapist
