School-Based Mental Health Technician

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with ESS clinicians to support students' mental health and overall well-being
• Monitor and track student progress, providing timely updates to the interdisciplinary team
• Assist in the development, implementation and reinforcement of individualized care plans
• Co-facilitate group interventions and student support sessions under clinician guidance
• Support therapeutic milieu management including scheduling, managing passes, and skill building
• Provide in-classroom support through observation and targeted interventions
• Collect and track student data and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Respond to crisis situations effectively, coordinating with clinicians, school staff, and parents
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with families and external providers to strengthen student support systems
• Assist with case management tasks and community resource connections

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a school or clinical setting
• Experience working with students, families, and community-based agencies
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills
• Knowledge of basic therapeutic interventions and counseling techniques
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student populations
