Scholarly Assistant Professor and Director of Industry Relations

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in hospitality or business (50% of role).
  • Direct and manage all aspects of the industry relations program (50% of role).
  • Act as a liaison between the school and national, regional, and local hospitality employers and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with the school director on philanthropic opportunities and industry influencer engagement.
  • Partner with program specialists to organize and track student internship opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for student recruiting, professional development, and job placement.
  • Manage fiscal and operational strategies, including budgeting for communications and marketing.
  • Secure mentors and participate in the selection of scholarship recipients.

Requirements

  • Earned master’s degree in hospitality, business administration, or a closely aligned field from a recognized university.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain partnerships with industry professionals, alumni, and donors.
  • Evidence of success in teaching undergraduate hospitality or business classes or guiding hospitality students.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a professional or academic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing academic programs and fostering student engagement.
  • Relevant professional experience within the hospitality industry or similar fields.
