About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design new test methods and evaluate complex testing to characterize the properties and composition of catalytic materials.
  • Troubleshoot advanced analytical equipment and lead instrument designs, including data acquisition and control systems.
  • Perform routine and non-routine testing to support Clean Air and Clean Air Solution teams.
  • Provide technical expertise to quality labs and coach team members within multiple testing areas.
  • Guide senior staff in developing best practice testing protocols for laboratory equipment.
  • Lead Job Safety Analysis activities for CAPEX projects and install corrective engineering measures for safety systems.
  • Manage projects to ensure completion within budget and maintain high quality standards through advanced statistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of related work experience.
  • Proven experience utilizing National Instruments LabVIEW control software and I/O systems.
  • Experience designing and fabricating reactor systems for characterizing heterogeneous catalysis.
  • Proficiency using FTIR, mass flow controllers, and complex analytical instrumentation to analyze gases.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, transport phenomena, and chemical kinetics.
  • Experience in project management, specifically driving CAPEX projects to completion.
  • Ability to use Statistical Process Control and advanced statistics to monitor instrumentation health.
