Scaler

Responsibilities

• Scale wood products entering the facility and maintain the Scaler exception log report
• Enforce material specifications and safety standards by physically inspecting trucks and loads
• Manage access control points and set the flow of traffic into the mill
• Serve as the primary point of contact for truck drivers, vendors, and contractors with professionalism
• Monitor and communicate mill operations that may affect truck turnaround times
• Perform housekeeping functions around the scalehouse and wear all required PPE
• Adhere to all company safety principles to maintain a safe work environment

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions such as rain, heat, cold, and dust

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with truck scales
• Knowledge of fiber specifications and wood species
• Experience in customer service roles
